The future starts with an idea.

Welcome to the inaugural AFI Global Idea Challenge, a call to visionaries, disruptors, and changemakers to redefine the future of science and ethics.

Every year, over 100M animals are used for animal testing.
And we believe science can help reduce that number down.

The world is ready for a breakthrough.
We’re searching for ideas that can radically reduce the need for animal testing.

“A researcher with a bold vision?”
“Will AI disrupt biotech as we know it?”
“Want to change global perceptions on animal testing?”

Submit your idea now!

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone with a groundbreaking idea to reduce or replace animal testing, be it a lone genius, a scrappy startup (under three years old), or a dream team of innovators.

Think big. Whether it’s a cutting-edge scientific breakthrough, an AI-powered solution, or a PR campaign that shifts public perception, we want ideas that challenge the status quo.

Absolutely not. We’re here for bold concepts and potential game-changers, not fully baked businesses. Your idea should be at the conceptual stage, not already in the market.

Submit an application, a five-slide pitch deck, and a one-minute video explaining your brilliant idea. Keep it smart, sharp, and straight to the point.

April 30, 2025. Mark your calendar, set an alarm, and maybe tell your future self not to procrastinate.

You’ll be flown to Seoul, South Korea, for the Final Live Pitch Event in June 2025, where you’ll pitch to industry leaders, investors, and visionaries. Yes, we cover your travel.

Cash prizes of up to $7,000, exclusive mentorship, high-profile networking opportunities, and the chance to showcase your idea at Asia’s largest organoids forum.

A mix of corporate leaders, biotech pioneers, ethical research advocates, and deep thinkers who know what it takes to change the world.

AI-assisted? Great. AI-generated? Disqualified. We’re here for human ingenuity, not a chatbot’s fever dream.

Because world-changing ideas deserve a stage. Because innovation needs a push. And because, frankly, this is an opportunity too good to pass up.
